Dalila & Alain, two heritage guides from Savoie Mont-Blanc des Amis de Viuz-Faverges, will take you on a journey through history and art. L'Eau Morte and the lake enabled the development of Verthier, one of the oldest villages that make up Doussard. The place inspired painters Prosper Dunant and Firmin Salabert. The tour takes you back to a time when the old bridge was a toll bridge, when the mills were powered by water channels that used the force of the water (not so dead after all!), and when the main means of transport to Annecy was by boat. It continues with a visit to the Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité chapel (open to the public on special occasions) and traditional dwellings: farms with hipped roofs, Maison Blain (15th century), a fine example of a bourgeois house...
