If you have never climbed a multi-pitch route before and you are comfortable climbing at a 5b–5c level, we recommend the Zig Zag route on Mont Baron. This route overlooks Veyrier-du-Lac and offers incredible views over Lake Annecy.
Each pitch is beautiful, with varied climbing that remains consistent in the fifth grade: slabs, grooves, walls, corners and traverses.
The first pitch, graded 5c, is optional. If you are unsure about it, you can simply avoid descending to the bottom of the abseil. The rest of the route never exceeds 5b.
