Several hiking trails allow you to visit the Nantbellet plateau and its beautiful village perched at an altitude of more than 1000 m. On the western edge, above Saint-Ferréol is the Rocher de Nantbellet. A very old castle, lordship of Montségur, once dominated the entire valley and the Passage des Essérieux, a road which leads towards Thônes, with a superb view of the Tamié and the Faverges valley. The speakers are members of the Friends of Viuz-Faverges. Pascal Pannetier can be defined as a enthusiast who is interested in both local history and archeology. He recently moved to the Sources du Lac d'Annecy. For many years, he has not counted his hours of diverse and varied research on two main subjects: roads, communication routes, post houses, cup stones (and engravings), and the one that interests us today Nantbellet. Photographs, surveys, hypotheses, consultation and aggregation of scientific data, everything goes! Didier Suchet, for his part, is doing detailed research on his commune, Saint-Ferréol. He is a long-time resident, from archives to testimonies, he never stops gleaning information from the source, especially since retirement time has come...
